Events in Key West in February
Valentine’s Day
Coupled up and planning on visiting around Valentine’s Day? Key West has plenty of activities for lovebirds to enjoy together. Here are some of our favorites:
Book a couples massage
There are very few people who don’t enjoy a relaxing massage, especially when joined by their significant other. Sunset Key Cottages spa offers couples an indulgent 50 minute pampering session with their duet package.
Have a beach picnic

Smathers Beach is by far the most beautiful beach in Key West with white sand as far as the eye can see, swaying palms and calm seas. The tranquil setting is perfect for a lazy day on the beach or a picnic lunch, so pack that picnic basket and pop the bubbly.
Go snorkeling
An underwater adventure is a wonderful bonding experience for couples. The perfect place to embark on your snorkeling or diving quest is without a doubt at Fort Zachary Taylor Park. There is ground coral and rocks along much of the beach itself, so rock shoes are a must to protect your feet.
Take a sunset cruise
A sunset cruise is simply the epitome of romance and luxury! Fury Water Adventures offers three different sunset cruise options, all with complimentary champagne, onboard bar facilities and of course a front row seat to the spectacular Key West sunset.
Sunset at the lighthouse

Still on the theme of sunsets, we’re not kidding when we say Key West’s sunsets really are something magical. For a cultured take on seeing the sunset with a dash of history, book the Key West Lighthouse Sunset Tour which includes a 90 minute tour of the historic lighthouse, a complimentary bottle of wine and a charcuterie platter to nibble on.
Dine by the sea
Casa Marina Key West offers a movie-magic memory for couples with a romantic private beach dinner for two. Gaze at your love and sip champagne while feasting on an over the top 4-course meal you’ll not soon forget!
Have dessert for dinner
Who wouldn’t want an excuse to have dessert for dinner? Better Than Sex (yup, that’s its real name!) is a dessert-only bistro with velvety curtains and soft candlelight transporting you back to another era. The menu is mouth-watering so we can 100% recommend skipping dinner and heading straight for dessert…after all you’re going to want to have space for seconds!
Key West Home Tours

Visiting Key West in February is a real treat for history and design fanatics. On the 12th and 13 of February annually, the Key West Home Tours take place, leading you through the most beautiful and iconic homes in Key West. Each tour takes you through some of Key West’s oldest and most famous homes and gardens with an up close look at antiques, art and other collectibles.
Old Days Art Festival
In the Truman Annex neighborhood, the Annual Old Days Art Festival takes place towards the end of February. Art aficionados will relish getting to see the works of more than 100 fine artists exhibited in a breezy open-air setting. Here you’ll find many one-of-a-kind art pieces to take back home as a fascinating conversation starter. Artworks exhibited include watercolor paintings, oil paintings, photography, sculptures and other fine art. While a tropical theme does come through a lot there is also plenty of contemporary and classical pieces to appease all tastes.
Stock up at the Farmers Market
If you’re staying in a vacation rental, then there’s no better way to get true taste for the island than by stopping by the Farmers Market at the Truman Waterfront. The market is open every Thursday from 2pm to 7pm and is full of fresh produce including meats, cheeses, honey and nuts and artisanal goods like homemade soaps and other crafts. If you’re a green thumb, you’ll also find beautiful locally grown orchids and native plants for sale.
